Birds of Africa is situated in the picturesque town on Knysna, along the Garden Route, known for the Heads, lagoon and forests.

Here, local skilled craftsmanship is used in the creation of handcrafted wooden birds that are hand carved and hand painted.  Our crafters have also developed other handskills to create other bird art and crafts.

Birds of Africa is situated in the Main Road of Knysna and hosts a showroom and some of the crafters can be watched while carving, painting, sewing and creating.

This photo of Cape Gannets was taken at  Birds Island, Lambert's Bay (West Coast, South Africa).  Featured are both youngsters (black) and adults (white).  It was such an exciting experience for me (Beryl) to be there and also to be able to show my first attempt at bird photography!  Will change the pic ocassionally - just to brag!
